Nova Guard

Nova Guard

Client-Side Anti-Cheat
for Nova.

Nova Guard gives Nova an independent view of physical mouse and keyboard activity. Nova compares that input with what Minecraft actually does—adding a powerful second layer against automated aim, movement and clicking.

Minecraft stays untouched. Your normal client stays untouched. Every normal Nova server-side check remains active.

Windows No Minecraft mod No Administrator Works with your normal client

Why Guard is powerful

Guard senses. Nova understands.

Normal Nova analyzes everything server-side. Guard independently verifies physical input. Neither replaces the other.

01

Aim & Rotation

Physical mouse movement is compared with in-game rotation, allowing Nova to identify rotations and corrections that cannot be reasonably explained by the player's real mouse input.

02

Movement & Macros

Nova can compare its server-side understanding of player input and movement with physical keyboard activity, providing another way to detect automated movement and macros.

03

Click Automation

Physical button activity can be compared with in-game actions without requiring Guard to assume which key or mouse button the player uses to attack.

04

Two Independent Views

Normal Nova analyzes everything server-side. Guard independently verifies physical input. Neither replaces the other.

Player session

Pair your session. Play normally.

Pairing securely links the currently running Guard session to your Minecraft account. Guard does not permanently enroll the PC.

  1. 1
    Run Nova Guard

Open it as a normal Windows user.

  2. 2
    Join a Guard-enabled server

Use your normal Minecraft client. Disconnect other Minecraft instances from that server while pairing.

  3. 3
    Pair the current session

    Run /nova guard pair <code>.

  4. 4
    Play normally

    Nova handles verification server-side.

  • Current launch onlyThe pairing applies only to the Guard instance that is currently running.
  • Restart means pair againClosing or restarting Guard ends the pairing and requires a new code.
  • 24-hour maximumA continuously running Guard session lasts no longer than 24 hours.
  • Pairing follows your networkServers sharing one Nova license keep the pairing. For another network or account, choose New pairing in Guard and enter the fresh code on that server.

Privacy

Built with clear privacy boundaries.

Guard collects only the limited input activity required for verification. It also sends one-way digests of a small set of stable hardware identifiers so a server can apply its own license-scoped Guard device bans. Raw serials are never sent or stored. Guard does not send typed text, screenshots, files, passwords, Minecraft memory, browsing activity or unrelated process information.

Limited verification input

Only bounded mouse and keyboard activity needed for independent verification.

Local session checks

Some session verification happens locally to confirm the intended Minecraft session.

×
No unrelated collection

No typed content, screenshots, files, browsing history, or unrelated process information.

OPTIONAL

Additional verification

Guard adds additional verification when the player uses it.

REQUIRED

Active Guard required

Players must have a valid paired Guard session within the configured grace period. Missing Guard in REQUIRED mode is a Guard requirement or session failure, not cheat VL.

Server owners

Short setup. No client mod.

Nova Guard requires Nova Pro and is enabled through config/guard/guard.yml.

StandalonePaper server
  1. Have Nova Pro.
  2. Set config/guard/guard.yml to enabled: true.
  3. Ensure the Guard connection can reach the server.
  4. Done.
VelocityProxy network
  1. Have Nova Pro.
  2. Install NovaGuardVelocity.jar.
  3. Enable Guard.
  4. Done.
Advanced networking

Most installations need no extra settings. Some hosts, firewalls, NAT, or DDoS services may require an additional rule or custom Guard endpoint. If Guard cannot connect after the normal setup, see the Nova documentation.
